Comparative study of antirotational single tooth abutments.

چکیده
Identifying the functional and mechanical limitations of single tooth implant systems is essential for the long-term success of the restoration. Three designs with different prosthetic connections were evaluated with their corresponding single tooth abutments for structural integrity and cyclic fatigue. The internal implant octagon was the weakest connection under off-axis impact loading and lateral loading, and the external hexagon implant was rendered unrestorable under lateral loading. Overall, the internal hexagon design was found to provide the highest degree of single tooth stability. This was attributed to the increased material strength of the titanium alloy implant in comparison to the softer CP titanium implant, and to the abutment's longer, 1-degree tapered mating hexagon.

Comparison of screw loosening, rotation, and deflection among three implant designs.
A common problem associated with single tooth implant restorations is abutment screw loosening. Manufacturers of implants have attempted to overcome this problem by incorporating antirotational design characteristics into their systems. Micromovement and torque levels required to loosen abutment screws for straight and angled antirotational screw-retained abutment/implant combinations from thre...

OBJECTIVES The aim of this study was to assess the clinical outcomes achieved with Computer-Assisted Design/Computer-Assisted Manufacturing implant abutments in the anterior maxilla. MATERIAL AND METHODS Nineteen patients with a mean age of 41 (range form 26 to 63) years, treated with 21 single tooth implants and 21 Computer-Assisted Design/Computer-Assisted Manufacturing (CAD/CAM) abutments ...
متن کاملAll-ceramic single-tooth implant reconstructions using modified zirconia abutments: a prospective randomized controlled clinical trial of the effect of pink veneering ceramic on the esthetic outcomes.
The aim of this study was to test whether veneering of the submucosal part of zirconia abutments using pink veneering ceramic positively influences the color of the peri-implant mucosa. Single-tooth implants were restored with either white zirconia abutments (control group) or pink-veneered zirconia abutments and all-ceramic crowns. Esthetic outcome measurements included a spectrophotometric ev...
متن کاملEvaluation of bone loss at single-stage and two-stage implant abutments of fixed partial dentures.
INTRODUCTION Fixed partial dentures (FPDs) can be supported on implant abutments only or on single-stage and two-stage implants and teeth. PURPOSE The purpose of this study was a comparative analysis of bone loss at the single-stage and two-stage implant abutments of fixed partial dentures used to restore missing teeth classified as Class I or Class II according to the Kennedy classification....
متن کاملParameters determining micromotion at the implant-abutment interface.
PURPOSE Micromotion at the implant-abutment level has been reported to be a major determinant of longterm implant success, as technical problems ranging from screw loosening to screw fracture may occur as a consequence of excessive micromotion. MATERIALS AND METHODS Following published standards, implant-abutment assemblies were fixed in a universal testing machine at a 30-degree angle. A cyc...
